“Florence and numerous other cities offer us marvelous sculptures, visible to everyone. Sometimes, however, we pass by such fabulous artworks without them surprising us anymore. For me this was no longer acceptable.
My intent is therefore to highlight, also and perhaps above all through the use of colour works, solarizations, contrasts, those most extraordinary sculptures so that they can be admired even more in our squares, in our museums. I wish the figures represented were more exalted. The models that famous artists have managed to sculpt in stone are so similar to us. In them we can find ourselves, mirror ourselves. I also research to pay tribute to the magnificent work done by the sculptors who were and are still capable of stirring our soul with their artworks.” – Maria Katharina Rauchenberger
